Tucked away in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan, Vannes is a hotbed of art and history, and is the Brittany region's 4th biggest urban area in terms of population.
Vibrant and appealing in terms of employment, the multi-sector economy here is highly diversified: sailing, digital economy, agri-feed, and more.
Vannes also boasts a huge range of training programmes and varied higher education options : the city is Brittany's 3rd biggest university town after Rennes and Brest.
From the marina to the old town clustered around the Saint-Pierre cathedral and the ramparts, wander down the pedestrianised streets and pop in to the shops.
A plethora of events are held throughout the year in celebration of the city's history and heritage, as are a number of music festivals ('Jazz en ville') and trade fairs (the Brittany book fair).
